Rank tracking by city and ZIP code, Google Maps and local pack checks: which proxy type to use, how to target it and what it costs.
Quick answer
What are the best US proxies for local SEO?
The best US proxies for local SEO are residential IPs pinned to a state, city or ZIP code. Local pack and Google Maps results change with the searcher's location. FiftyStateProxy includes state, city, ZIP and ASN targeting on every plan, from $1.50 for 1 GB to $0.52/GB at 1 TB, as of October 2026. No KYC — no ID, no selfie, no documents. Pay in crypto.
| Best proxy type | Residential (home ISP) IPs; a mobile port only to see results on one carrier |

| Coverage | all 50 US states and Washington, D.C., plus 30 city pages with sample ZIP codes |

| KYC | None — no ID, no selfie, no documents |
| Payment | Crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, from a $25 top-up |

Local rank tracking needs an IP inside the searched area because Google builds the local pack and Maps results around the searcher. A check sent from a data center in Virginia gets results built for Virginia, not for a customer in Phoenix.
A local SEO proxy is a residential IP pinned to the city or ZIP code you rank in, so each check shows a resident's results.
Use a ZIP code for map-pack checks, a city for city keywords and a state for statewide terms. Add an ASN when every check must leave from the same home ISP. The location goes in the proxy username, in the format USERNAME-country-{cc}-state-{state}-city-{city}-zip-{zip}-asn-{asn}-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}.
| Local SEO check | Targeting level | Username part | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Statewide keyword, such as "auto insurance quotes" | State | -state-oh | Ohio |
| City keyword, such as "dentist Charlotte" | City | -state-nc-city-charlotte | Charlotte, NC |
| Map pack for one neighborhood | ZIP code | -zip-28203 | South End, Charlotte |
| Same home ISP on every check | ASN | -asn-20115 | Charter Spectrum (AS20115) |
All four levels come with every FiftyStateProxy residential plan. City availability varies, so test a narrow ZIP and ASN pair before you schedule it.

FiftyStateProxy's 1 GB plan is 25% below the lowest 1 GB price among the 20 US proxy providers we checked on 29 October 2026. That low was Thordata's $2.00; ours is $1.50, with ZIP targeting included. Proxy-Cheap's site returned HTTP 403 that day, so it is not in the table. Every tier is listed under how much do US residential proxies cost.
Five steps take a rank tracker from no proxy to a ZIP-pinned check. The full walk-through, with curl and Python, is in how do I set up a US proxy.
List keyword and ZIP pairs
Pair each keyword with the ZIP codes where buyers search, for example "roof repair" in 30305 (Buckhead) and 30308 (Midtown) in Atlanta.
Top up and buy traffic
Send crypto to your balance, then buy a residential plan from it. Credentials appear in your dashboard as soon as you buy a plan from your confirmed crypto balance.
Write one username per location
For Buckhead: USERNAME-country-us-state-ga-city-atlanta-zip-30305-session-buck1-ttl-20. Give every location its own session ID.
Add the gateway to your tool
Enter gw.fiftystateproxy.com with port 7777 for HTTP/HTTPS or 7778 for SOCKS5 as a custom proxy.
Check the exit, then schedule
Confirm the exit IP's location once, then run checks at the same hour each week. Keep request rates low and follow the search engine's terms.
Use residential proxies for Google Maps and local pack checks, because only they can be pinned to a ZIP code. On FiftyStateProxy's rotating mobile pool, targeting is set at country level. Carriers also share each public mobile IP among many phones through carrier-grade NAT.
Rent a carrier port (T-Mobile, AT&T or Verizon) only when you need the results a phone on that network gets. The list of which US residential proxies are best in 2026 sets FiftyStateProxy beside other providers.
Retail price checks and geo-targeted ad checks use the same ZIP and city targeting as local SEO. One residential balance covers all three, billed per GB. See which US proxies suit price monitoring and which US proxies suit ad verification.

In every plan: Protocols: HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5 · US targeting: State, city, ZIP code, ASN · Traffic expiry: Does not expire
A US residential proxy for local rank tracking costs $1.50 for 1 GB at FiftyStateProxy, and $0.75/GB on every tier from 5 to 100 GB. ZIP and ASN targeting cost nothing extra. Prepaid residential and rotating-mobile traffic never expires: unused GB stay on your account until you use them.
Yes. Put that city or one of its ZIP codes in the proxy username, for example -state-tn-city-nashville-zip-37206 for East Nashville. The check then leaves from a home IP in that area, wherever you sit.
One plan covers as many ZIP codes as you need, because FiftyStateProxy bills traffic per GB, not per location. Change the ZIP code in the username from one check to the next.
No. FiftyStateProxy asks for no ID, no selfie and no documents, and email is optional. You pay in BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC from a $25 top-up.
US law does not ban proxies; legality turns on what you do through one. Tracking where your own or a client's business ranks is routine SEO work, as long as you stay within the search engine's terms. This is not legal advice.
