## How did we build the US proxy price index?

The index uses one rule for every provider: the price a buyer would pay on 29 October 2026, read on the provider's own page.

- **Tier price:** the lowest of the pay-as-you-go rate at that volume and any plan no larger than the tier. A provider whose smallest purchase is above the tier gets no price there.
- **Shown price:** discounts the page applies by itself count, such as ProxyEmpire's EMPIRE50 code and the struck prices at Thordata and Shifter. Codes you must type do not.
- **Left out:** free and paid trials, "second month free" offers, sales quotes, and business-only plans such as Rayobyte's Scale Residential.
- **Median:** the middle value of the providers with a price at that tier.
- **No affiliate reviews:** every figure links to the provider itself in the sources below.

## What does this price index not cover?

The index is a one-day snapshot of public prices, and five gaps matter:

- **Bright Data:** its residential price page returned a server error on 29 October 2026, so it has no price here. Its docs were readable.
- **Proxy-Cheap:** every page returned HTTP 403, so it has no price, crypto or KYC data. The "25% below" findings hold among the providers we could read.
- **NodeMaven:** its slider values are not in the page source; only "from $2.20/GB", 2 GB for $8.50 and 20 GB for $90 were readable.
- **IPRoyal:** no residential price is shown between 10 GB and its custom 10 TB tier.
- **Live Proxies:** plans bundle IPs, GB and days, so its per-GB prices are the total divided by the GB.

We ran no speed, uptime or success-rate tests. The index compares prices and policies only.

## US proxy price index: FAQ

### Is FiftyStateProxy the cheapest US proxy provider?

At 12 of 15 tiers, yes: FiftyStateProxy was 25% below the lowest shown price among the 20 providers checked on 29 October 2026. At residential 500 GB the gap is 24.8%. On rotating mobile at 5 GB and 10 GB, DataImpulse is cheaper.

### Why is Bright Data missing from the price tables?

Its residential price page returned a server error on 29 October 2026, and we publish no number we could not read. Its docs show that Bright Data takes no crypto; see [does Bright Data accept crypto](https://fiftystateproxy.com/does-bright-data-accept-crypto/ "Bright Data payment methods and crypto, checked 29 October 2026").

### Why do shown prices differ from list prices?

Some pages display a struck original price next to the price you pay. Thordata shows 1 GB at $2.00 against a struck $2.85, and Webshare shows a $7.00 anchor on every tier. The index uses the price you pay.

### Does the index include targeting fees?

Only where the price is published. DataImpulse charges an unpublished fee for state, city, ZIP and ASN targeting, so its $1.00/GB is a country-level price. FiftyStateProxy includes all four levels in every tier.

### Which providers are cheapest for a small test?

At 1 GB, Thordata showed $2.00 and FiftyStateProxy $1.50. For a ranked list by tier, read [what are the cheapest US proxies per GB](https://fiftystateproxy.com/cheapest-us-proxies/ "Cheapest US proxies per GB in 2026").
